  • Sharon Hurst
    is a watercolourist specialising in Fantasy. She is a charismatic teacher who excels in glazing to achieve lumincus landscapes and skyscapes, sometimes including figures or fantasy creatures. She has achieved the coveted award of The World of Froud Artist of the Month and has featured in articles in leading art publications.
  • Heather Jolliffe
    studied fine art painting at the royal academy schools of art in london, after an art foundation at bournemouth & poole college of art. her childhood surroundings of the new forest coast and countryside have been a lifelong inspiration for her artwork. an experienced art teacher and demonstrator, heather has an informative and supportive approach in her teaching, which is much appreciated by her learners.
  • Helen Talbot
    gained her masters degree in art, design and media at portsmouth university. She is a fully qualified teacher who inspires her students to experiment with materials, increasing their confidence and bringing their work to life. she lives and works in hampshire and likes to explore different methods of representing subjects.
  • Jean Lee
    studied art and design at newton college, bath and is an experienced teacher of all abilities in schools and colleges. she aims to create a relaxed and informal atmosphere where students can progress at their own pace, gradually gaining in confidence and increasing observational skills.
  • David Webb
    spent 20 years as an illustrator and is now a regular contributor to the artist and leisure painter. an experienced demonstrator and inspiring teacher his subjects include landscape, seascape, buildings and still life. he has published three books on drawing and painting.
  • Alison C. Board
    trained at the arts university, bournemouth where she agained a first class honours degree in fine art. she uses her home in the beautiful dorset countryside as her inspiration and enjoys encouraging her students to share this delight and to use a variety of materials.
  • Jonathan Newey
    is an award winning artist with 20 years teaching experience who is full of enthusiasm. he exhibits in the mall galleries and west of england academy and is a member of the UK colour pencils society.
  • Mike Bragg
    studied fine art at goldsmiths college, london. A full-time artist and illustrator who works in most drawing and painting media. He is a patient and stimulating tutor who brings out the best in his students.

At Art Holidays in Dorset, there is a house-party atmosphere where your art, enjoyment and comfort are of prime importance and nothing is too much trouble to ensure that you enjoy your art break to the full. All abilities are welcome.

Our professional, supportive tutors are available for stays from 1 to 7 nights. On 5 and 6 day breaks there will be a free half day, and on 7 day breaks there will be two free half days where you can explore the area independently or John and Christine will be only too pleased to show you around. We will send in advance of your holiday a materials list and outline programme. For non-painting partners there is a great variety to do and see and we will gladly send you information about any particular interest or activity.
